Calling all those interested in Outdoor Learning
The Institute of Outdoor Learning is holding it's South West Regional Conference and Annual General Meeting 2012 at The Goods Shed (YHA Okehampton).
This gathering for all IOL members in the South West takes place on Saturday February 25th 2012 from 9.30 a.m. onwards at
Do you need to be a member? No, there is a price for non-members, but clearly there are many benefits from membership!
Meet other practitioners; get up to date with latest IOL news, and there's time built in to the programme for networking, gossip and chat.
Plus workshops, displays, an evening adventure talk
With an optional overnight stay and activity on Sunday morning at very affordable prices

It's a cool app that uses the mapping function on your phone, and can show you places around your current location. Sunday 15th January 2012 - The Turkey Burner, North Dartmoor (Near Okehampton)
The Turkey Burner, will be taking place on Sunday 15th January 2012. Subject to final permissions, The organisers are hoping it will be based on the northern part of Dartmoor, incorporating the rugged open moorland, and fast bridlepaths through nearby wooded areas. Mud and Sweat will have their usual Mountain Bike Navigation classes, both Long Score (3.5 Hours) and Short Score (2 Hours), with all courses using OS 1:25,000 maps.
Mud and Sweat are running two Navigation Events, as part of a Series - The Turkey Burner and The Joker (1st April 2012). There will be prizes for class winners at each event, plus series winners too. We are offering substantial discounts for pre-entering the events, and further discounts for entering both events.

Coming soon
31 March to 7 April 2012
Our programme for Active Dartmoor Week will be launched soon. The launch day, to be held on 31 March, will take place at Castle Drogo with consecutive days of challenges and sporting activity throughout the moor.
All funds raised by the events will go to Dartmoor Search and Rescue, as well as National Trust ‘Save Castle Drogo’ fund. |
