MOUNTAIN BIKING 1 session half day |

Mountain biking starts from the youth hostel, we start with the basics before setting out for the woods, where we make the most of tracks and trails and develop riding skills negotiating some tight tracks and rough terrain** this is definitely a physically demanding activity and does require a certain level of bike riding ability. |
CYCLING: 1 session half day |

We are fortunate to have the Granite Way, part of the national cycle route network which goes straight from the centre. This route follows the railway line so is virtually flat. We go over Meldon viaduct and sometimes venture over to Meldon damn as well before heading back to the centre. |
KAYAKING 1 session half day |

Kayaking can take place either on our lakes or on a river*. Kayaking can be an exciting dynamic sport with many disciplines. This is a great exploratory learning experience which promotes self confidence as well as playing some great games and learning new skills. |
CANOEING 1 session half day |

Canadian canoeing takes place at our lakes or on a river* the canoes take up to three children which means communication and co-operation are essential to go anywhere! |
SAILING 1 session half day |

Try out this exciting activity at our Watersports base on Roadford reservoir using our Laser Pico's or Stratos. This activity is usually not suitable for primary groups. |

An opportunity to learn all aspects of navigation, map reading, compass work, orientation etc. This session can be a full or half day and will include classroom tuition and moorland exercises. |
CLIMBING 1 session half day |

Rock or Wall? Our Climbing Wall is a great start for any group and for the younger climber where you can learn belay techniques as well as master climbing. Rock Climbing can take place at a number of venues on Dartmoor and suits slightly older groups as there is more of a challenge in identifying the routes and feeling for holds.

GORGE SCRAMBLING 1 session half day |

Gorge Scrambling is one of our most popular activities, this is an exciting ascent of a Dartmoor river through pools and up waterfalls. Great for water confidence and team building. |
RAFT BUILDING 1 session half day |

This is team building at it’s best, if there’s no team work everyone’s getting wet! Communication is vital, the group have a chance to propose ideas before deciding on their design and then build their raft which they will test in a challenge on the water. |
INITIATIVE GAMES (ICE BREAKERS) 1 session half day |

A variety of problem solving games. Try to work out the answers as a team. Designed to improve leadership, communication and teamwork skills

On our archery ranges you have a chance to compete in tournaments whilst developing co-ordination, concentration and self discipline. Archery balances well with some of the more physical activities we offer.

Letterboxing is an activity which teaches navigational skills whilst having fun and exploring Dartmoor. Letterboxing originated on the northern moors in the 19th century and the number of letterboxes on Dartmoor has been growing ever since, there are now thought to be over 2000 waiting to be found!

All our guided walks are led by a qualified instructor, who will design a route to meet your needs, whether that is tracing a river to it’s source, looking at stone rows, settlements and sacred sites or simply exploring Dartmoor and the tors. |

Experience Dartmoor by dark lead by an instructor across the moors. Essential for the first night of your visit (if leaders want any sleep!). |
MUSEUM or CASTLE TOUR 1 session half day |
Check out Okehampton's heritage with this teacher lead trail via our doomsday listed castle or the Museum of Dartmoor life (newly reopened after a major refurbishment; the group will be met at Museum by the curator who will offer guidance to the Museum). |

SURVIVAL SKILLS 1 session

Survival skills are very popular at the moment, we divide into small groups and focus on two key areas shelter building and fire lighting. Although this activity is based outside we do have a purpose built roundhouse to shelter in if the weather deteriorates before the groups manage to build theirs. |
SURF CORNWALL BEACH (FULL DAY: 2 sessions) |

Whether an experienced rider or this is the first time this is a great activity. The stables we use are situated on the western side of Dartmoor and they are experienced and very friendly they will be able to offer a ride to suit the more advanced riders along with the beginners. |
