Adventure Activities

Adventure Okehampton is a specialist adventure company based at Okehampton YHA, and has been providing adventure activities for individuals and groups of all ages for the last 15 years.

Our friendly, experienced and knowledgable staff will work with you to plan your itinerary to meet your specifications (e.g. educational, leisure, budget). All our activities are aimed at building skills, self-confidence and communication skills. You can be certain that your participants will return home with new skills and have experienced the great outdoors!

We offer activities to all, whether residents at one of our 3 modern centres, staying at local hotels and guesthouses or local residents taking advantage of their proximity to Dartmoor to gain new skills.

Looking for activities for groups (Residential/Non Residential/Day Adventures)

For information about activities for Schools and Groups. We are licensed by the UK Adventure and Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) as a registered activity provider for school groups and young people. All activities are designed to be fun, safe but challenging. We have the quality badge from Council of Outdoor Learning and are recognised by Adventuremark.

Looking for activities for individuals (Discovery Breaks/Training Course/Day Adventures)

Looking for activities for families

We offer 2/3/4 day Adventure camps in the summer, 3/4 day Budget Family Adventures at Easter/Jubilee at YHA Okehampton and a 7 day Adventure Camp at YHA Bracken Tor. If selecting a Family Adventure Camp, then often the participants make new friends, as they work with other families as a team.

To learn more about the Activities choose from:  Archery, Bushcraft, Canoeing, Climbing, Cycling, Gorge Scambling, The Great Oke Abseil, High Ropes, Kayaking, Low Ropes, Mountain Biking, Mountain Boarding, Navigation Courses, Pony Trekking, Raft Building, Surfing, Weasling.

If there is an activity not listed that you would like to include in your programme, please contact the Activity Manager or Anna, the group coordinator, (Tel. 01837 53916), and we will see if arrangements can be made, as we are always adding new activities to our programme.
