Get active and join our Family Adventure Holidays.  Our Family Adventure Holidays are available for 7 nights at Bracken Tor and our original Family Adventure Short Breaks are for either 4 nights or 3 nights and run at The Goods Shed during the school holidays starting in Easter 2012. Here in Devon we have the best value holidays for families, starting from £540 for a fun-filled break for a Family of 4 at Okehampton Youth Hostel, right on the edge of Dartmoor.

What's included in a Family Adventure Holidays?

Accommodation:

Based at our Youth Hostels at either at Okehampton (Bracken Tor) or Okehampton (The Goods Shed), you will be given a Family Bunk Room. Our rooms at Bracken Tor have private bathrooms. The Goods Shed does offer some en-suite rooms at an additional cost of £4.50 per night. The Youth Hostel has a full alcohol licence allowing drinks (wine, beer, cider) to be served with your meal or during the evening.

For those on a budget, you can select our camping option and bring your own tent and camping equipment, and use the hostel facilities (showers, games room, dining facilities), but get all the other parts of the Family Adventure Camp package.

Catering:

Buffet style hot and cold breakfasts, buffet style lunch (at the centre) or a picnic lunch (off site activities), Family evening meal normally available between 5.30pm - 8pm. Tea and coffee is provided throughout your stay free of charge.

An evening meal is not provided for the first night as many people arrive late, however should you wish to join us for dinner we can book this for an additional charge.

Activities: Try out 6 different activities from high ropes, kayaking, canoeing, raft-building, archery, rock-climbing, gorge-scrambling and either Pony-Trekking or The Big Oke abseil (over 14).

All activities are based at the centre or nearby in the surrounding area of Okehampton. Alternative activities are available for younger participants please talk to our activities team.

Other types of adventure breaks are available at weekends, as some of our Discovery Breaks are suitable for families.  Try for example, a canoeing, climbing or kayaking courses, and develop new skills.

Alternatively, we can make provision for a minibreak, if there are sufficient numbers in your group.
