The Goods Shed at YHA Okehampton is part of the YHA network in south-west England. It is well situated to take advantage of the highest peaks and the most remote areas in southern England, as these are all within walking distance of the Youth Hostel. The Goods Shed site hosts Adventure Okehampton's Activity centre, as well as offering accommodation for up to 115 people in 24 bedrooms with full central heating. We offer all day access to the Hostel, where reception is normally manned 8.00am to 8.00pm in the peak season.
The Goods Shed at YHA Okehampton is proud to hold the English Tourism Council 3 star Hostel badge.
As an Enterprise hostel Adventure Okehampton is constantly seeking to improve the facilities that we offer to YHA members. In 2005 we paved external picnic areas at the front of the hostel. In 2006 we surfaced the car park, in 2008/9 we added new games facilities, changed catering styles for different groups and upgraded the bedroom facilities. 2009/10 will see more bedrooms being upgraded to offer better facilities.
The site is situated within large enclosed grounds with single entry for extra security.
